Inspiration
We found inspiration from Amazon, Google, and Facebook. All these companies helped pave the way for a great user customizable UI, changing the industry. We wanted to expand on what these companies created, by bringing it all together.
What it does
Our website helps the user by allowing them to search for a product on a singular website, and get results for multiple websites offering that product. This includes the link, price, and other details of the product without them needing to search multiple websites. We have categories, and other filters to help make the user get their desired product on their screen without other non-related products.
How we built it
We used Atom and WebStorm as our IDE to help create our website. We utilized HTML, CSS, and JS to help create our website frame, design, and functionality.
Challenges we ran into
Challenges were present in our journey. The biggest for us was the backend and database side. Designed our schema and balancing the amount of effort we put into the front end versus the back end was challenging. Another challenge that we ran into, was whether to stay the night and try to get more work in. These challenges were hard, but they made us stronger as a team.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Our biggest accomplishment was creating a website together, which is a great working prototype. We also feel that we came closer as a team and accomplished something special together.
What we learned
We learned the challenges associated with creating a product that works, before a deadline. Working in a team was an important part of the process, it taught us to all pick up different workloads and piece the project together. We also learned how to use React to help create our website, and create a website that balances, functionality and usability. Honing our CSS and JS skills, during the process, allowed us to help learn more about the website building process.
What's next for PROShop eCommerce Shopping Website
We want to expand our backend and create a platform in which the user can sign in, and include payment in our database. This would centralize all of the user's shopping, allowing them to save time and money with our deals.
