Inspiration
Decided to sell my house without an agent and needed a way to promote my listing online.
What it does
A fancy single property website builder.
How I built it
Developed on Java using a dynamic scripting language called Lucee.
Challenges I ran into
The 360 virtual tour builder was the biggest technical challenge but I found a very flexible panorama library called Pannellum which sped up development.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
I developed this on my own within a week. This was possible thanks to the opensource toolkit I've been developing over the last 3 years which helped me bootstrap the project and save a lot of unnecessary development time. The project is called Wheelie and it's available on Github.
What I learned
I learned that while the development was smooth and easy, the marketing is an uphill battle.
