Witnessing the impact of illegal dumping in our neighborhoods, we knew something had to change. Children should play without navigating through garbage. This was our call to action.

What it does

ProofPositive 311 leverages AI and drone tech to provide daily, verified reports of illegal dumpsites to city services, complete with photographic proof of issues before and after resolution.

How we built it

We combined advanced drone surveillance with cutting-edge AI to identify and document illegal dumping. Our system integrates with city infrastructure to streamline the 311 service process.

Challenges we ran into

Adapting the technology to varied urban landscapes and ensuring accurate, consistent data capture were significant hurdles. Gaining trust with non-invasive surveillance was also a challenge.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We've achieved a 35x cleaner cityscape in San Francisco, transforming streets from littered to pristine. This has restored community pride and set new standards for urban cleanliness.

What we learned

We've learned the power of community and technology combined can lead to sustainable urban environments. Also, privacy-respecting surveillance is key to public acceptance.
