Inspiration

Students often miss scholarship opportunities because of confusing eligibility criteria, complicated paperwork, and unclear requirements. We wanted to make scholarship applications easier to understand and navigate.

What it does

ProofPath helps students understand scholarship requirements, identify missing documents, and generate personalized checklists with links to official sources.

How we built it

We plan to use React and TypeScript for the frontend, with AWS Lambda, Amazon API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, and Amazon Bedrock for backend processing, data management, and AI-powered explanations.

Challenges we ran into

Our main challenges include interpreting complex requirements, ensuring reliable AI responses, protecting sensitive student information, and providing trustworthy guidance.

Accomplishments we're proud of

We designed a solution that combines rule-based verification, evidence-linked recommendations, and uncertainty detection to help students prepare more complete applications.

What we learned

We learned that effective AI requires reliable sources, transparent explanations, and privacy-conscious design.

What's next for ProofPath

We aim to test the prototype with students, improve document verification, expand scholarship coverage, and measure accuracy and time saved.
