ProofPath AI
Many students dream of earning scholarships, joining hackathons, finding internships, and accessing fully funded educational opportunities. However, information is scattered across different websites, and understanding eligibility requirements and application details can be time-consuming.
I wanted to build a platform that makes discovering opportunities easier and helps students take meaningful steps toward their academic and professional goals.
What it does
ProofPath AI is an AI-powered opportunity discovery platform designed to help students explore opportunities aligned with their academic backgrounds, interests, and ambitions.
Students can create an academic profile, describe their goals, personalize their search preferences, and explore opportunities such as scholarships, internships, fellowships, research programs, and hackathons.
The platform also includes an AI-powered Opportunity Analyzer designed to help students understand opportunity announcements and identify important information.
How I built it
I developed ProofPath AI as a web application using React and Vite for the frontend and Node.js with Express for the backend. I integrated Google's Gemini API for AI-assisted features and created a personalized experience around student profiles and opportunity discovery.
The project combines a student-focused interface, preference-based discovery, and AI-assisted analysis in one platform.
Challenges I faced
One of my biggest challenges was integrating the AI functionality with the backend and handling API errors reliably. I also worked on configuring the application for deployment and making the project accessible through a public web link.
These challenges helped me learn more about full-stack development, API integration, debugging, and deploying web applications.
What I learned
Building ProofPath AI strengthened my understanding of frontend and backend integration, AI API usage, environment configuration, and deployment workflows. It also taught me the importance of making AI tools practical and useful for real users.
What's next
I aim to improve opportunity matching, strengthen eligibility insights, expand reliable opportunity sources, and make the analysis experience more robust.
My goal is to help students spend less time searching and more time pursuing opportunities that can shape their futures.
