Inspiration

We were inspired by students who miss scholarship opportunities because of confusing eligibility criteria, complicated paperwork, and unclear requirements. We believe every student deserves a fair chance to access educational opportunities without being held back by documentation barriers.

What it does

ProofPath helps students understand scholarship eligibility, identify missing documents, and generate personalized checklists with official source links.

How we built it

We designed ProofPath using React and TypeScript, with a proposed AWS architecture using Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, and Amazon Bedrock.

Challenges we ran into

Our key challenges include ensuring reliable AI responses, interpreting complex requirements, protecting student data, and providing trustworthy sources.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We developed a solution concept combining rule-based verification, evidence-linked guidance, and uncertainty detection to simplify scholarship applications.

What we learned

We learned that useful AI requires reliable evidence, transparent explanations, and privacy-conscious design.

What's next for ProofPath

We plan to test the prototype with students, improve document verification, expand scholarship coverage, and measure accuracy and time saved.
