Inspiration
Supply chain teams lose significant time and money because shipment evidence is scattered across emails, spreadsheets, PDFs, messaging apps, and warehouse records. Resolving supplier disputes often requires manually collecting purchase orders, invoices, delivery photos, inspection reports, and shipment timelines.
We built ProofChain to provide a single platform where procurement, warehouse, finance, and operations teams can organize shipment evidence, identify discrepancies, and generate evidence-backed dispute reports before small issues become expensive claims.
What it does
ProofChain is an AI-powered shipment evidence platform that centralizes shipment documents and operational data into one workspace.
The platform enables teams to:
- Manage shipments from purchase order to delivery
- Compare purchase orders, invoices, delivery challans, and warehouse inspections
- Detect quantity, pricing, and delivery discrepancies
- Generate AI-assisted dispute summaries
- Track vendor performance
- Monitor shipment risk through dashboards
- Export operational reports
- Maintain a reliable audit trail for every shipment
How we built it
ProofChain was developed using Next.js with the App Router for both frontend and backend APIs. The UI is built with Tailwind CSS, while Prisma ORM provides database access to AWS PostgreSQL. The application is deployed on Vercel, allowing fast and scalable deployments.
Challenges we ran into
The biggest challenges included designing a workflow that feels natural for logistics teams, organizing multiple document types into a single evidence timeline, integrating Prisma with PostgreSQL, and creating a responsive dashboard that remains easy to navigate while presenting large amounts of operational information.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- Production-style SaaS interface
- Complete shipment management workflow
- AI-assisted evidence analysis
- Vendor performance tracking
- Dispute management module
- Analytics and reporting dashboard
- Responsive design
- AWS PostgreSQL integration with Prisma
- Live deployment on Vercel
What we learned
Building ProofChain helped us understand real-world supply chain workflows, modern cloud deployment, database modeling with Prisma, and how AI-assisted document comparison can improve operational efficiency.
What's next for ProofChain
Future development will include secure authentication, real-time collaboration, document OCR, predictive shipment risk analytics, AWS S3 document storage, automated notifications, and stronger cryptographic verification for evidence integrity.
