Inspiration
In a world flooded by infinite AI generation, human talent is facing an existential crisis. If anyone can press a button and create "art," then the years a human spends perfecting their craft lose their market value. I realized that the problem isn't AI itself—it's the lack of proof. I wanted to build a "Trust Layer" for human creativity; a way to prove that the "spark" of an idea belongs to a person, not a prompt.
What it does
Proofa is a digital certification layer that moves beyond simple "AI detection" by conducting a forensic audit of the creative process. The core deliverable is the Authorship Passport: a cryptographically secured document that proves a human directed, arranged, and controlled the AI workflow. We verify the "Human Spark" by analyzing the creative journey from inception to the final result.
The Journey: Team over Prizes
This project was built during an intense weeks of sprint. As the technical complexity grew, I found a dedicated partner in Saheed Adewumi.
Today, during submission, we faced a moment of truth. We noticed the rules state that a GDE cannot take part in the prizes. We had a choice: hide our partnership or stay true to our values of transparency and trust. We chose the team. We are submitting Proofa knowing we are ineligible for the money, because our friendship and the platform we built together are the real victory. We did the project, we did the team, and we did the friendship.
How we built it
We architected Proofa as a "Trust Stack" to bridge the gap between law and code:
The Orchestrator: A custom backend using the Gemini API to analyze creative intent and human markers.
The Security Layer: We implemented Post-Quantum Cryptography, ensuring these passports remain unforgeable for decades.
The Tech Stack: Next.js for the UI, Go for high-performance microservices, and Google Gemini.
Challenges we ran into
We are currently in a closed beta. We have built the engine, but we lack the infrastructure support to open the gates to all creators. We haven't enough cloud credits.
Today, we also faced a moment of truth. We discovered that because Saheed is a GDE, we are ineligible for prizes. We had a choice: hide our partnership or stay true to our values. We chose the team. So, now we are submitting knowing we cannot win the money, because our friendship and the platform we built together are the real victory.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
From Attendee to Founder: What started as a hackathon entry has transformed into a real startup mission with a functional engine and a clear roadmap for protecting human creativity.
World-First "Spark" Protection: We have built the first platform specifically designed to protect the human creative spark and talent using the forensic power of Gemini 3.
Unwavering Integrity: We chose the team over the prize money. Staying true to our partnership and transparency is the most important accomplishment and the foundation of our future startup.
Quantum-Secure Evidence: Successfully implemented world-first creative certificates secured by Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC), ensuring that human authorship is protected for decades to come.
What we learned
We learned that the "Algorithm of Doings" (the process) is more valuable than the final output. People don't want to hide their use of AI—they want to prove their leadership over it. Most importantly, I learned that even in the darkest depression or as a refugee, the ability to "solve solutions" is a power that can build the future.
What's next for Proofa
Securing Support: Our priority is finding the partners and cloud credits necessary to move out of beta and finally invite our users. Model Garden Expansion: Integrating verification for cinematic video and architectural 3D modeling. Legal Integration: Partnering with IP law firms to make the Authorship Passport the global "Gold Standard" in copyright registration.
