🎯 Inspiration

As a content creator and developer, I constantly found myself repeating the same process:
Searching for the right tools, add-ons, and resources for each new creative task—especially when using Adobe Express.

Whether I was making a YouTube video, designing a flyer, or creating a podcast graphic, the steps were similar, but the discovery process was slow. I realized that many users—especially beginners—don’t know which add-ons or tools they need, or how to combine them effectively.

That's when I thought:
What if one AI-powered assistant could recommend all the tools you need, just from your prompt?
That idea became PromptPilot.

💡 What it does

PromptPilot is an AI-powered Adobe Express Add-on that helps creators by recommending:

  • ✅ Relevant Adobe Express Add-ons
  • 🌐 Helpful third-party tools and websites
  • 🔧 Pre-built creative workflows with prompts for each step

Just type a goal like "create a podcast promo kit" or "make a real estate Instagram ad" — and PromptPilot returns a guided, tool-rich workflow with:

  • Add-on suggestions
  • Prompt examples
  • External resources
  • Direct links to launch tools

It's like ChatGPT meets a creative toolkit — right inside Adobe Express.

🛠️ How we built it

  • Built the initial prototype UI using the Adobe Express Add-on SDK
  • Designed prompt → task flow using a mapping engine in JavaScript
  • Created a content workflow database (JSON) mapping common creator needs to tools and prompts
  • Integrated AI logic for interpreting user intent and dynamically generating suggestions
  • Demonstrated proof-of-concept in the local dev environment and Adobe’s Code Playground

🧱 Challenges we ran into

  • Adobe Express Add-on SDK is new, and documentation is evolving — understanding its limitations and opportunities took time
  • Creating a scalable mapping system for “intent → workflow” that’s both flexible and useful
  • Balancing simplicity (1-click guidance) with power (supporting complex workflows)
  • Making external tool suggestions feel integrated and not disruptive to Express's UI

🏆 Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • Built a working prototype that responds to creative prompts with real tool suggestions
  • Showcased how Express Add-ons can be chained together for end-to-end workflows
  • Designed a system that highlights underrated or niche Add-ons, helping the ecosystem grow
  • Extended the platform's usefulness by including outside tools and websites based on creator goals

🚀 What's next for PromptPilot

  • Expand workflow support to 50+ creative tasks across industries (education, marketing, social media, etc.)
  • Add user-type personalization (e.g., marketer, educator, student, designer)
  • Integrate real-time feedback loop to improve suggestions based on user behavior
  • Submit to the Adobe Express Add-on marketplace and begin onboarding beta testers
  • Long-term vision: Make PromptPilot an open platform where creators can submit and share their own workflows
