Inspiration

We were inspired by the growing need for better prompt engineering tools in the AI space. With so many creators relying on generative models, we wanted to build something that makes prompt crafting easier, smarter, and more collaborative.

What it does

PromptPal helps users design, test, and refine prompts for AI models. It offers a clean interface, version control, and real-time feedback to improve prompt quality and performance.

How we built it

We built PromptPal using React for the frontend and Firebase for backend services. The app integrates with OpenAI’s API to test prompts and uses Markdown with LaTeX support for formatting.

Challenges we ran into

One challenge was designing a flexible prompt editor that supports both technical and non-technical users. We also had to manage API rate limits and ensure smooth real-time collaboration.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We’re proud of creating a tool that’s intuitive and genuinely useful for prompt engineers and AI enthusiasts. The Markdown + LaTeX support was a big win for usability.

What we learned

We learned a lot about user experience design, especially for technical tools. We also deepened our understanding of prompt engineering and how small tweaks can drastically change AI outputs.

What's next for PromptPal

Next, we plan to add prompt analytics, team workspaces, and support for more AI models. We’re also exploring a plugin system to let users extend PromptPal with custom tools.
