Inspiration

We as software Developers often find ourselves running out of ideas while working on something new or building a project. At such times we search for ideas on the web or keep on pondering. This lead to give us inspiration to create this web application named "PromptOasis"

What it does

PromptOasis is a prompt generator web application which will help developers to find new project ideas and keep building fun and interesting stuffs.

How we built it

We have created this using React and JavaScript which will be used for generating ideas on web/app development, Web3, AI/ML, Robotics, IoT and Cloud. We have made a drop down list for users to select their desired topic and once they click on generate ideas, a unique idea pops up. On clicking show more, a brief description will also appear along with it. If the user wants some more ideas, he/she can click on generate again to get another unique idea and the process continues. The project also includes a feedback form and an about section of our team.

Challenges we ran into

While building this web app, we often found ourselves get stuck in certain parts. For e.g. we have created a logo in the landing page. To make it more attractive we have decided to make it a glowing bulb. Then we came across APIs to generate ideas but finally made it in our own JavaScript file. In this way we fixed quite a lot of problems and learned a lot of things in the process.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're proud that we are finally able to build and host our desired web app. We have been able to fix all the bugs and make it an attractive and a useful website for all the software developers out there. Also this is our first ever submission on MLH Hackathon. So we are quite excited for it.

What we learned

While building this project, we got to learn React and JavaScript and also improved our development skills. We got the basics of git and GitHub. Along with it, we learnt about team management and how hackathons work. Nonetheless, it was fun.

What's next for PromptOasis :

Our next venture would be to add more features to our website and make it even more responsive and attractive. Also, if our project makes it to the finals, we'll be able to get a platform to scale our web app to more and more users. Thus, we sincerely hope that our project gets shortlisted and we are looking forward to post-event communication with the sponsors.
