Inspiration

A passion for both the art and cutting-edge technology was the inspiration to get started with ArtStamp. Recognising the transformative power of AI in the creative process, we have envisioned a tool that not only facilitates but also protects and legitimises digital art creation.

In the digital art world, proving the originality and ownership of artwork is increasingly challenging. We have gotten inspired by the potential of blockchain technology to provide a transparent, immutable record of an artwork's creation and ownership, seeing an opportunity to address a significant market need.

What it does

ArtStamp - a browser extension tool that records the creative process of an AI artist that generates an artwork on any AI Application. Upon completion, the hash of the record is stored on blockchain offering proof of the artwork's human involvement and timeline by creating a time stamping Certificate which can be viewed on a register as well. This will allow users to demonstrate the whole process of creation and most importantly, the intellectual involvement in the generation of the content by AI in case of dispute (e.g. litigation), so that to claim for the originality of the artwork.

How we built it

We built a Chrome extension using Content Scripts , once you install the extension , you can choose the of AI tools (Currently only supporting Dall E, Stable Diffusion and Mid Journey) and start your creative process, once you think you have finished, you can choose to download the pdf, which will be stored in your local data base of you can choose to store in our database (Register). In the background once you finish your creative process a hash of your entires work is generated and time stamp certificate is generated.

Challenges we ran into

Navigating data scraping complexities and ensuring seamless integration across various platforms presented significant challenges. Due to time constraints, our MVP was deployed solely on XRPL, despite our initial roadmap including expansion to other chains like Ritual.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Successfully streamlined the artist's journey into a simple two-step process, making it accessible for AI artists, regardless of their familiarity with blockchain technology. Achieved compatibility with three distinct AI models, broadening our tool's applicability. Additionally, we established a local registry allowing users to explore and understand the stories and prompts behind the artworks.

What we learned

Building a chrome extension , SHA 256 and Mint NFT on XRP Ledger. Learnt a little about Ritual but couldn't implement it due to time restrictions.

What's next for ArtStamp

We're aiming to expand our platform to be multichain, allowing artists to store their NFTs on their preferred blockchain, making ArtStamp truly accessible to all. Our next steps involve product validation through partnerships with select artists, ensuring our solution meets real-world needs. Following this, we plan to collaborate with various marketplaces and brands, integrating our tool directly into their ecosystems. Additionally, we're dedicated to enhancing customization options, tailoring ArtStamp to fit the unique requirements of different AI tools, thereby providing a more personalized experience for artists.
