Went crazy with Bolt.new

Inspiration

The power of Bolt.new to spin up apps from just a few prompts got me hooked. I started with one idea- then chaos took over, and I ended up making a bunch of silly, experimental micro-apps. It was fun and exhausting. If I hadn’t been stuck on the free tier (missed the weekend unlimited tokens 😢), most of these would’ve been production-ready.

What it does

PromptLab is a collection of 7+ quirky tools built using one-shot prompting:

  1. Templit- A portfolio builder with editable templates, live preview, and one-click Netlify deploy. Needs more templates/styles.
  2. InsightPilot- AI-powered data analysis tool. Upload CSVs to get insights, visualizations, missing values, and cleaning tips (premium-only for full cleaning features).
  3. LoopTracker & TaskRoulette- Tools for ADHD users to stay on track. UI/audio polish still in progress.
  4. Mini Game Hub- Includes a pictionary placeholder and Tomato Launcher (write a name, launch a tomato- emotional damage not included). More silly games planned.
  5. NarrateMe- Upload a video + enter your own script-> choose a voice (via ElevenLabs)-> get a narrated video. Voice merge still pending (thanks, token limits).
  6. Reddit Potion Alchemy- Gamifies subreddit comments: comment on r/X, get a potion + points. Not live on Reddit yet.
  7. Voice Diary- Record voice rants -> turns into a diary. Scrapbook-style UI + AI-generated visuals coming soon.
  8. Nothing... (yet).

How we built it

  • Built on Bolt.new
  • Used Supabase for backend
  • Deployed via Netlify

Challenges we ran into

  • Built everything on mobile because the Bolt UI on desktop kept crashing (“reload page” loop, even after troubleshooting)
  • Daily token limits (no Builder Pack) = features unfinished, especially audio processing and UI polish
  • Way too many ideas, way too little time (started late)

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • Built 7+ unique apps (though some still in progress)
  • Explored AI, voice, gaming, productivity, and dev tools all at once
  • Pushed Bolt.new to its creative limits

What we learned

  • Prompt engineering at high speed
  • Planning multi-app projects under tight constraints
  • Debugging on mobile (never again 😮‍💨)

What's next for PromptLab

All apps will be refined, completed, and merged into one giant umbrella app- a single AI-powered hub where users can explore tools, games, productivity helpers, and more. The vision: PromptLab, powered by Bolt.new
