-------Promptfolio-------
Inspiration
Being a middle schooler interested in pursuing a career in tech, I have struggled with how to present my work in the simplest way. Either the tools available are too complicated or too basic. Promptfolio was the solution. It is a easy portfolio creator that represents me well.
What it does
Promptfolio turns plain prompts into a portfolio site like a pro. It is designed for young creators and students who would like to present their work without having to code anything or study design.
How we built it
I built Promptfolio using the Bolt Builder Pack and Bolt.new. They helped me build, design, and deploy the site quickly. The frontend is just plain HTML, TailWind CSS, and JavaScript,React18,TypeScript, and some other languagues/frameworks. It can be run locally or online without a backend.
Challenges
Finding the correct level of simplicity and professionalism was challenging. As a student, I had to operate within my limitations while attempting to create something worthwhile. Professional and clear writing about myself was also challenging.
Achievements
Finishing this project was a great accomplishment. It was the first time that I had made something that other people would potentially use or even criticize. I gained a lot of knowledge about user experience, organization, and following an idea through.
What I learned
I learned through this project how to begin with a simple concept and develop it into a completed product. I gained a greater confidence in React18,Tailwind CSS,HTML,JavaScript and other languages. I even got a bit of practice in writing concisely and considering how users will navigate a site. Above all, I learned that great outcomes can be achieved using simple tools if they are used with intention.
What's next for PromptFolio
I intend to add: - College or internship templates - custom site links - Custom sections such as achievements or tools Promptfolio will continue to grow with me, serving more students in the process.
