What is PromptAudit?

PromptAudit is an AI-powered website audit tool that scores any public site across SEO, GEO (Generative Engine Optimization), AEO (Answer Engine Optimization), AI Visibility, and Technical Health — then generates a production-ready prompt for every issue so you can fix it instantly with Claude Code, Cursor, Codex CLI, Gemini CLI, or Windsurf.

Paste a URL → get scores + prioritized issues → copy a prompt → paste into your AI coding agent → ship the fix.

Inspiration

AI coding agents have made it incredibly fast to build and ship websites. But most sites still fail basic SEO, get ignored by AI answer engines, and have technical gaps that hurt visibility and performance.

Existing audit tools give you long reports full of jargon. We wanted something different: actionable output. Instead of just telling you what’s wrong, PromptAudit hands you the exact prompt to fix it — tuned for the tools builders actually use every day.

What we learned

• Traditional SEO checklists are incomplete in 2026. Ranking in Google is only half the battle — you also need to be visible in ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, and other answer engines (AEO/GEO).
• The biggest bottleneck for most builders isn’t knowing what to fix — it’s translating findings into concrete code changes.
• Generating high-quality, context-aware prompts that work reliably across different AI coding agents is harder than it looks. Prompts need to be precise, preserve existing code, and avoid over-engineering.

How we built it

PromptAudit was built entirely with Lovable.

We focused on:

• Fast, lightweight crawling and analysis
• Weighted, category-specific scoring (not just vibes)
• Generating production-ready prompts tailored for Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Gemini CLI, and Windsurf
• Clean, private reports with no configuration required

The entire experience is designed around speed: most audits complete in under 60 seconds.

Challenges we faced

1. Prompt quality — Early versions generated prompts that were too vague or too aggressive. We iterated heavily to make them precise, safe, and immediately usable.
2. Balancing depth vs speed — Deep analysis is useful, but only if the report arrives fast enough that people actually use it.
3. Covering the new search landscape — Traditional SEO tools ignore AI visibility. Building meaningful GEO and AEO checks required new thinking beyond classic meta tags and sitemaps.
4. Keeping it simple — We deliberately avoided accounts, integrations, and complex setup so anyone can run an audit in seconds.
