Inspiration
The idea for this project stemmed from the gap we noticed in accessible, personalized resources for women and girls looking to advance economically and take on leadership roles. We’re aware that economic empowerment is a crucial aspect of gender equality, but many women face challenges in finding tailored advice and support. We wanted to create a tool that provides guidance and truly understands individual needs, aspirations, and circumstances. This project aims to be a supportive companion on the journey toward economic independence and leadership.
What It Does
Our platform is a user-friendly website where women and girls can ask questions about their economic goals, career paths, leadership opportunities, and more. Users can specify their unique circumstances, such as their career level, goals, and interests, and our tool uses AI to generate personalized responses that are actionable and relevant. The goal is to provide empowering, practical guidance that helps users make informed decisions and take meaningful steps toward achieving their ambitions.
How We Built It
We built this platform using React for the front end to ensure a smooth, responsive user experience and Google’s Gemini AI as the core engine that generates recommendations based on user input. The backend is connected to the Gemini API, which processes the queries and generates tailored advice. We focused on creating a seamless flow so users can easily input their questions and receive thoughtful, helpful responses in real-time.
Challenges We Ran Into
One of the main challenges was integrating the Gemini API with our application in a way that felt reliable and responsive. We had to ensure that the recommendations provided were relevant and aligned with the values of empowerment and practical support. Additionally, designing an interface that felt welcoming and easy to use required a lot of iteration and user testing.

We’re proud to have created a tool that feels accessible and supportive, while also offering real, valuable advice that can make a difference in people’s lives. It was rewarding to see the project come together, especially the personalization aspect, which was a central goal from the beginning. This project taught us a lot about the importance of understanding user needs on a deep level. We learned how to work with AI in a way that’s practical and meaningful, ensuring that the technology serves the purpose of empowerment. Additionally, building a project with social impact requires empathy, and we focused on that throughout our development process.
