Inspiration We wanted to fix “tutorial hell” by turning ideas into guided, confidence‑building projects with checkpoints and real understanding.
What it does Projectory turns an idea into a structured tutorial, gates progress with quizzes, and lets you build and ship via an in‑browser workspace.
How we built it Next.js frontend, Azure Functions API, Supabase Auth/DB, Gemini via OpenRouter for generation, plus Azure Communication Services for Study Buddy emails and a streak heatmap.
Challenges we ran into Azure Functions local setup (script resolution, env config), email sender domain linking in ACS, and keeping secrets safe while testing.
Accomplishments that we're proud of End‑to‑end serverless setup, Monaco IDE, AI tutorial generator + quiz flow, Study Buddy reminders, and a GitHub‑style activity heatmap.
What we learned How to wire Azure SWA + Functions cleanly, handle auth in serverless APIs, and deliver a delightful UX with minimal backend.
What's next for Projectory Team workspaces, richer analytics/streaks, more curated tracks, and deeper AI feedback (hints, recaps, and personalized paths).
