Inspiration
I was inspired by the overall goal of this hackathon. Astronomy is a relatively uncovered branch for the youth, and I thought building a model would help expand the audience of such an interesting topic.
What it does
It shows the solar systems rotation in relatively accurate speed, with a ratio of 1 second of model time to 20 days in real life. By clicking on planets, people can learn more about planets through simple facts and information. It is engaging for the youth, as they are our primary audience.
How we built it
I used a variety of languages that are compatible such as HTML, JavaScript and CSS. I used resources like Gemini for descriptions as it can quickly recognize and iterate through information on Google.
Challenges we ran into
I didn't have many issues, except with CSS animations. w3schools support was helpful as they provided thorough docs explaining certain CSS features as well as examples in code.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
The process, and our learning through this experience
What we learned
Usage of css animations as well as the advantages of Gemini and how accurate the information is.
What's next for projectcosmo
I would love for this to be published on the web, and if this project does well I will try to publish this on the web.
