Inspiration

We noticed how tricky investing feels to most folks and thought, why not make it simpler and fun? That's how Finwise popped up in our heads—a friendly app that makes investing a piece of cake and teaches you a thing or two along the way.

What it does

Finwise turns the scary world of stocks and bonds into a walk in the park. Our app uses AI to guide your investment journey, making saving for anything from a vacation to retirement feel like chatting with an old friend.

How we built it

With a mix of coding magic, teamwork, and probably too much coffee, we pieced together Finwise using MongoDB, TypeScript, Next.js, React, MaterialUI, Auth0, and Prisma. It was a wild ride of problem-solving and pizza-eating.

Challenges we ran into

One of our biggest hurdles was getting Prisma, MongoDB, and Next.js to play nice together. Each technology is powerful on its own, but integrating them smoothly was a challenge.
