Inspiration

Although attending countless of seminars learning brand new concepts and history, the three of us found the most interest within the UI/UX workshop, learning how to properly design a system that would allow the user to a greatest possible experience. This is achieved throughout the design, layout, and theme of a webpage which is what we focused on in our project.

What it does

We created a website for our loan and financial advice service called Waterme-loan. Our website initially begins with a landing page - the page that users/customers will be initially led to by clicking on our website either through a search engine, advertisement, or direct URL. This page shows users what the basis of Waterme-loan is all about, what it does, and what it can help you with. From this landing page, users have many options to choose from as they continue browsing the website. They can learn about the company and its team, they can browse pricing and subscription options, and they can either log in or create a new account. Waterme-loan is partnered with Google and Facebook, allowing users to log in or sign up with their respective Google or Facebook accounts for ease of use. Once the log in process is complete, users will be led to a welcome page, which gives them many different options to help them build a more stable, secure financial state.

How we built it

Our project is a webpage developed through Figma, a powerful design tool that helps you to create websites, applications, logos, which focuses on the user interface and user experience of a website. We learnt of Figma through the UI/UX workshop and instantly fell in love with the simplicity and the how diversely it can be used.

Challenges we ran into

Originally, our webpage (created by Figma) was going to incorporate other workshops including the Python and Data Science workshops along with our proof made calculator from the Web Development workshop, however we could not figure out how to combine all of these variables into one project to submit.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Collectively as a team, we are all very proud of the work we have done throughout the workshops during this hackathon. The small introductory projects that got us to be interested in these courses were all very satisfying to make. After reviewing the recorded workshops and correcting our errors, once the projects became functional we were all very proud and happy.

What we learned

The real question is, what haven't we learned! Going through the lessons of Python, Data Science, and Machine Learning/AI, we were OVERWHELMED with newly learned knowledge (in a good way!). Fun Fact: As we learned in the lesson with Sonny Li, a computer is originally defined as a person performing mathematical calculations, rather than the actual machine. We also learned through Machine Learning/AI and Deep Learning, the ability to compute our artificial intelligence to recognize numbers written through the use of thousands of pictures.

What's next for Project Waterme-Loan

We will continue to work on our web-page adding new features such as the calculator we created to calculate the loan the user desires and adding features where the user may actually input personal information and create an account with our services.
