Inspiration
I wanted to create a small and relaxing browser game that could make people smile. I chose Java sparrows because their round, soft appearance is naturally comforting, and I liked the idea of turning that feeling into a playful factory game.
What it does
Mochimochi Java Sparrow Factory is a browser-based idle game where players produce soft, round Java sparrows and gradually expand the factory. The goal is to create a simple, cute experience that is easy to understand and enjoyable even during a short break.
How I built it
I built the project with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, using Codex as my main development assistant. I used Codex to help structure the game, improve the interface, fix bugs, and refine the overall user experience. I also used GitHub to manage and publish the project.
What I learned
Through this project, I learned how to turn a simple idea into a complete browser game. I also learned more about front-end development, debugging, project structure, and how to work effectively with an AI coding assistant.
Challenges I faced
One challenge was balancing simplicity with enough interaction to keep the game enjoyable. I also had to adjust the layout, game flow, and visual details so the experience felt clear and relaxing. Publishing the project on GitHub was another important learning step for me.
Accomplishments
I am proud that I completed the project, published it on GitHub, and created a game that reflects my own sense of humor and love for birds.
What's next
I would like to add more factory upgrades, more Java sparrow variations, sound effects, animations, and additional ways for players to interact with the birds.
