Inspiration
Sidewalks and roads are sometimes inaccessible and not well maintained in the winter for everyone, most especially those with accessibility needs and seniors.
What it does
- It reports the safe, no-snow, and unsafe, icy, and snowed-in, routes during winter.
- It builds a community of volunteers.
How we built it
We gathered information through a survey and added research. Then, we created a website using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
Challenges we ran into
Making a navigation map from scratch turned out to be more difficult than expected.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
While we were not able to finish what we had originally planned to do, we were able to develop a website that is not bad. At the same time, we expanded our skillset.
What's next for Project Sunshine
We plan on adding and working more on to our current website, refining it better, before launching it into the real world.
