Project Nightfall

This project is a model of an inflatable lunar habitat designed for long-term missions on the moon, demonstrating lightweight, durable living spaces while maximizing launch capacity.

Inspiration

This was inspired by both my love of space and by a group project I'm working on in one of my classes.

What it does

This is simply a model that demonstrates the habitat's inflatable capabilities.

How I built it

I hand-sewed the cover for the habitat, and designed the 3D printed cut-out model from scratch.

Challenges we ran into

  • Being on a team by myself.
  • Having to figure out a new 3D design program without help.
  • Making a sewing pattern for my project because of its unusual shape. ## Accomplishments that I'm proud of Completing the project by myself and pushing myself out of my comfort zone to try new projects with 3D design and hands-on components.
