⭐Inspiration
The goal is to conserve and sustainably use the world's oceans, seas, and marine resources due to their crucial role as the planet's life support and regulators of the global climate system. Oceans are the largest ecosystem, home to numerous species, and offer significant potential for scientific discovery. Despite their importance in supporting global economic, social, and environmental needs, decades of irresponsible exploitation have led to alarming degradation. Current conservation efforts fall short, and the COVID-19 crisis, while tragic, provides an opportunity for oceans to recover. It's also a chance to establish a sustainable recovery path that ensures livelihoods are in harmony with the natural environment for the future.

Explore the wonders of marine life through interactive games and engaging content on our website! Discover fascinating facts while playing entertaining games and reading interactive materials. Gain insights into the intricate world beneath the waves and understand how human activities impact marine life. Join us in the journey of learning through play and discover the importance of protecting our oceans for a sustainable future.
👨🏭How we built it
To design the web pages, we used Figma to help us arrange all the elements on the page and generate the HTML and CSS files. We built our games with Unity. It's a well-known game engine that supports exporting games to web pages. Its WebGL can help translate C# scripts and other components into JavaScript which is supported by the majority of Web browsers. With the help of Google technologies like Google Cloud, we successfully created a Virtual Machine with Ubuntu. We used Apache to set up the Web Server, thus we can access the web pages with HTTP protocol. You can try it here: Diving.
💡What we learned
By participating in this hackathon, we learned about the 17 goals and deepened our understanding of marine conservation challenges. It gives us a chance to investigate the importance of sustainable practices, technological innovation for ocean preservation, and the interconnectedness of human activities with aquatic ecosystems. Additionally, this hackathon helps foster collaboration and problem-solving skills, programming skills, and tool-seeking and using skills.
🔭What's next for Diving
We only finished a small part of all the targets in Life Below Water. Diving is planning to include more content about our ocean and marine lives. We are also looking for more interactive methods to arouse people's awareness of our ocean.
