Inspiration

Growing up buying course books was never cheap. Most of us had to borrow from other people. It may not seem like much but it was truly a blessing to receive second hand course books without having to spend money as they were required for only a year. What do you do when you have used books which you do not require anymore and you cannot find anyone to give it to. They either waste away on shelf or are sold for next to nothing. But what if we made it so that you can pass on the book to someone who needs it more than you. Someone you don't know but is wishing for the same thing that you wished for years ago. Our idea is to make a decentralised library of sorts, where people can share and receive books.

What it does

Our app allows a user to enter a list of book the user owns and is willing to lend for sometime or even forever. The user can add the book name and description of the book they own. Another user can search from the library of books accumulated from each user. This user will be shown a list of users who have the book they want. The user can then choose the nearest book donator to them and send them a request. A database will have a list of all the books collected from each user. Users can also request for a specific time duration to borrow the book and can return them back or keep them as well if agreed upon by the donator. This way the user lending a book can lend any book multiple of times to multiple people.

How we built it

*First we gathered requirements *We did a feasibility study *Built the basic structure from the most feasible structures available considering the time constraint (1day) *We made low fidelity paper prototyping *Then we went on directly to development *We started the Development with the backend with a very basic front end *After backend we moved to UI of the app *we have built the most basic workflow for the app

Challenges we ran into

*Time constraint was out biggest challenge. We spent whole day and night to build this app. *Figuring out the idea for our app was a challenge we spent proper time to build this idea.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

** A FULLY WORKING APP ** we are proud to build this app in less than a day. We are very happy with the minimalistic and modern UI design.

What we learned

What's next for کتاب عام

There is a lot to come for کتاب عام . Hers is a list of things that would make this app an amazing marketing success: Rating book quality using star rating from five *Rating people the donatee and the donator *Request the donator for time extension * Uber/Careem delivery collaboration** This would result in great revenue for the app (the model is yet to be thought of) *Location information- google Maps integrations *Search according to location as well if the user want to filter in such a way (find closest books first) *Notifications to increase usability of app *If given a large amount of time like a month we can finish these goals that we have set for ourselves *User information stored would include phone number as well *Stolen and Lost books Policy : there are three steps that could be done. (rate a person low, ask book payment or a small fees, or forgiveness) *Upload picture of book for assurance and further quality check *Return Policy or System *Proper Date and time period
