Inspiration
I got it from one of my friends, who told a story of how his Father's job was especially difficult due to the fact that he had to sort out manpower to projects manually, so I decided that I could try to make a software to make it easier (After all, that's what my friends know me for)
What it does
It takes the number of projects, available manpower, each project's deadline and priority as well as the max manpower you are willing to put into one project
How we built it
I took all the values and put it into an algorithm to give you the results and gives some advice on each project
Challenges we ran into
THE ALGORITHM WAS SO HARD TO MAKE I TOOK 3-4 HOURS JUST TO CODE THE BASE ALGORITHM NOT INCLUDING PROJECT VALUE AND MAXIMUM MANPOWER PER PROJECT
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
How effective this code is. For most of our lives, we had to rely on human minds to manually sort manpower, often leading to big crunches and wrongly sorting out manpower.
What I learned
I learnt how hard simple looking ideas could be, the algorithm was easy on surface, but because I can't just tell the computer "More priority, less duration to deadline, more manpower", I had to make many equations to actually make a project's total priority make sense
What's next for Project Manpower Sorter
I'll make the comments of the project's manpower better and more effective and I'll account for different roles (like a backend developer does backend projects and interface developers does interface projects)
