Chatbot agents are one of the most trend technologies that people can interact to get their life easier, faster and achieve their tasks and goals. It also will improve the quality of services provided to Makkah visitors/pilgrims.

What it does

Pilgrims in HAJJ season are facing some obstacles related to their journey, and the majority of them has a lot of questions that need to be answered instantly. the Chatbot agent is an android based application supports multi-language including ARABIC ( which has never been used in a chatbot assistant ). the answers generated automatically are based on question Keywords. Below are the main features of the application: Interactive conversational mobile application (AI Beased)

  • Application train itself (based on machine/supervised learning).

How we built it

We relied on Watson Assistant service to build virtual assistant chatbot. To present the application, we used Android Studio.

Challenges we ran into

Searching for available chatbot services that support Arabic language Building database for available hajj related services that can be shared with users

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • The first machine learning application interacts with users in the Arabic language
  • Able to implement an application in very short time

What we learned

  • This event gave us the opportunity to enrich our skills on several IT aspects.
  • Learn new technologies and tools that will for the future or the digital world
  • Exchange experience within the team members and with the other participants in this valuable event

What's next for Hajj Intelligent Assistant ( مساعد الحاج الذكي)

This Application will work perfectly if it gets adopted by the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques (GPH). The app can be enhanced to be integrated with e-services of GPH Portal and Government Authority. Integration points include:

  • Automatic registration and check of service requests
  • Integration government's entity to retrieve user information based on government ID

The application can be extended as well to interact with other languages Voice interaction functionality
