Inspiration

The inspiration behind the Recyval app was to encourage others contribute to world change by non-polluting the Earth and inform them of how to recycle correctly. Also, I wanted to enlighten the effort put forth by HBCU's and create results generated by the "Howard University Research Group". This allows for the opportunity of HBCU students to be competitive with other search engines such as Google.

What it does

Recyval combats dread and disparity, motivates others to participate in helping the planet, as well as conveniently and knowledgeably understand how to reuse, recycle, and learn survival skills. It is a beginner friendly app that was created to be inclusive to those of all ages including disabilities such as visual impairments and gives a sense of purpose through repurpose.

How I built it

Recyval was built using Figma, original AI generated images, AI voice generation, video editing ,and photoshopping.

Challenges I ran into

The challenges that occurred was adding the recycle bot 3D element from Dora into Figma. As of now, Dora 3D animations are only available for websites, not apps.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

I used my innovative mind to still use the recycle bot in the Recyval app by screen recording the animation and inserting it as a video on the iPhone home screen. It sits in the widget box to give it a 3D effect. I am also proud of the animated launch page that I've created using AI image and voice generation, which took skill, creativity, and much time to execute.

What I learned

I've learned to fully consider and integrate accessibility guidelines when expressing original creative ideas.

What's next for Recyval.

Recyval may one day be fully developed and supported by schools for the use of students and even staff members.
