Inspiration
The project was inspired by Typhoon Yagi, Asia's most powerful storm this year, which swept across southern China and Southeast Asia, resulting in dozens of deaths, particularly in Vietnam, where the four of us are from.
What it does
It connects people in need with resource suppliers. In particular, if you are in need, you can find nearby resources like meals, medical supplies, and shelter. If you are a supplier, you can log in to your account and sign up to contribute to an event.
How we built it
We built our web app using the NodeJS framework. We also utilized React, Bootstrap, and AntDesign for designing the user interface. For the backend, we used MongoDB to store data about suppliers and the events they can support.
Challenges we ran into
We faced difficulties integrating the Google Maps API with our frontend design. Additionally, we didn’t have enough time to fully implement all the functionalities we desired.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We successfully designed a full-stack web app in 24 hours, despite having no prior experience with the Google Maps API. We believe our project can support people in need during natural disasters.
What we learned
We had a great opportunity to learn about team collaboration and time management. We also gained valuable experience with the Google Maps API and using MongoDB queries.
What's next for Project
Further finish can try to push the project into production and also improve more user friendly UI/UX.
