Inspiration

Volunteering is a nonprofit activity in which someone volunteers with their time to give any help to the individuals in the society. This behavior is often defined as the glue that holds the community together. Volunteering allows us to connect with our community and make it a better place. It was narrated from Zaid bin Khalid Al-Juhani that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “Whoever gives food for a fasting person to break his fast, he will have a reward like theirs, without that detracting from their reward in the slightest”. "افطار صائم" is one of many volunteering activities that take place during Ramadan. The concept of this act is to break the fast of those who are on the road far from home, allowing them to have the same experience they get with their families at home, and of course for the poor people to have Iftar as the rest of muslims in the world.

What it does

This solution will help people who are far from home, fasting in the holy month of Ramadan to find the nearest افطار place providing them the spirit of Ramadan and making them live and enjoy the atmosphere of this holy month. For the future. Our target users are: Students residing on university campuses, employees on a mission outside their living wilaya, and those moving across the country.

How I built it

Our main feature is to find the nearest افطار place. It will provide the user with the nearest افطار place with all the details needed like exact address, contact information, time, and association name, and a link to the place.

Challenges I ran into

For most of our team members, this is their first Hackathon as well as we are all new to Flutter, and time management was our weakness. We couldn't implement all that is shown in the prototype. but we tried our best.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

We are most proud of our idea, prototype, and teamwork.

What I learned

We learned a lot. First, we learned Flutter basics like how to use APIs and widgets. Second, we are also new to design, so prototyping was also a challenge. Last but not least, the time is limited so time management is needed.

What's next for افطار

More features can be added in the future like: Notify the user 30 min before maghrib prayer. Include multiple languages ( French and English). The user will be able to join an event as a volunteer.
