Inspiration

Our inspiration was our current situation as students in the ongoing pandemic. Seeing the topic of vaccine mandates being debated back and forth has brought our attention to the topic of vaccinations in general. Knowing misinformation can easily be spread, we wanted to be a reliable source for parents and contribute to child safety.

What it does

Our focus is on spreading correct vaccination information and keeping users up to date with the very thing that saves lives. When users enter their state and vaccine, Vaxfax will take the stress off of parents and keep the focus on their child's safety. Resources will be available to provide an overview of the vaccines, and vaccine coverage by the state will be displayed.

How we built it

Through APIs, statistics, carousels, and dropdowns, we created a trustworthy site perfect for parental use.

Challenges we ran into

We were pushed by the challenges offered my MLH because we have never used them before. Time management was also a problem, though we seamlessly tied everything together. But above all, we struggled with communication because we all split up into our own work.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are extremely proud of the data we got from our APIs and the general formatting. We believe our site can make a true change in everybody's community.

What we learned

We learned to communicate and research instead of panicking. Speaking out on things we are struggling with can open opportunities for others to help.

What's next for -

We will take our ideas of research and passion to our future projects.
