Inspiration

The inspiration for UpLift Scheduler came from witnessing the struggles of first-generation, low-income students in my community. These students often juggle multiple responsibilities, including work, family obligations, and academics, making effective time management crucial for their success. Seeing friends and peers struggle to balance their schedules and feeling overwhelmed by their commitments motivated me to create a tool that could help them better manage their time and reduce stress.

What we learned

Throughout the development of UpLift Scheduler, I gained a deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by first-generation, low-income students. I learned about the critical importance of time management and how it directly impacts academic performance, mental health, and overall well-being. Additionally, I discovered the value of user feedback and iterative design, which significantly improved the usability and effectiveness of the platform.
