What Inspired Us
Dreamscape was inspired by the idea of how quickly dreams fade after waking up. Sometimes leaving only a blur of emotion or imagery. We've always been fascinated by how technology could one day connect to your subconscious, and we wanted to imagine what it might look like if we could actually record what our brains see while we dream. The concept also explores how design can make abstract, almost impossible ideas feel real and emotionally immersive.
What We Learned
Through this project, we learned how to balance speculative design with a sense of realism. We explored new techniques in UI motion design and glass morphism, creating transparent, layered surfaces that mimic the feeling of being inside a dream. This design style helped reinforce the app’s ethereal and futuristic tone while keeping the interface clean and functional. I also learned how to use storytelling to make an experimental idea feel emotionally grounded and user-centered.
How We Built Our Project
In Figma, we built the app’s interface with a glass morphic design system. With soft blurs, gradients, and transparency to give each screen depth and dreamlike texture.
In Spline, we created 3D visual element, the user's AI companion, Snoozy. Who will act as a guide for the user.
The Challenges We Faced
Our biggest challenge was ethics. Questioning if dream-recording should exist and who would own that data. Balancing realism with imagination was also difficult, especially with a piece of technology that does not exist yet.
