Inspiration

Wanted an easy way to view an entire room of furniture from multiple angles

What it does

Outputs 3D models of furniture onto a piece of paper that can be viewed using your webcam

How we built it

We used A-frame, AR.js, and Wayfair's proprietary 3D models (.glb files) to create an AR desktop experience

Challenges we ran into

Getting multiple AR markers to render in the same frame

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Collaborated well with multiple teams including Wayfair Next and other engineers

What we learned

We learned how to retrieve Wayfair's 3D models and all about AR on desktop

What's next for Project Dollhouse

• Integrating with Room Planner to pull SKUs
• Creating 3D markers that are specific to a furniture class
• Creating a "Shuffle" function that randomly selects a SKU from a class and places it in the AR view
