Inspiration
With the world under lockdown, we (people, companies, and government) have abandoned many green initiatives. Human health and safety are priority, but we wanted to demonstrate that environment issues has a direct impact on our health and lives.
What it does
We built an educational video game that shows the impact of environmental issues on human health. Purpose of the game is to cure the world of disease by making green efforts (Reducing Paper Usage, Cosuming Less Meat, Using Alternative Transportation, and so forth).
How we built it
We collected our data from reliable sources (CDC, NIH, and National Graphic - among others). We designed the game similar to Plague, Inc. using the research. We then built it in Unity with C#.
Challenges we ran into
We experienced challenges creating our presentation due to video conferencing issues (lag and adusting to multiple screens). We had trouble creating the main system - the dots representing the spread of disease.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We worked on this remotely as a team and finished a working demo.
What we learned
We learned how interconnected humans are to the environment and are more committed to sustaining green efforts.
What's next for Project Cure
Create a website to accompany the project. Add more comprehensive data. Add additional features - for example, color-coding diseases and making the disease geographically accurate.
