Project CONNECT

Inspiration

After seeing all these high school students searching for volunteer opportunities during the corona virus lockdown, I came up with a way of remotely providing oppurtunities.

What it does

Connects groups of individuals looking for volunteer opportunities from around the world to remotely help advance literacy skills in rural Africa, while also encouraging the growth of a community of local volunteers in sub-saharan Africa.

How I built it

I used adobe after effects to create the video and I designed the app UI through figma.

I learned a lot about the communities of rural sub-saharan Africa, through my research, and the immense impact that donating books can have. I also learned a great deal about app design

What's next for Project CONNECT

I plan to partner with the African Library Project to help bring my program and app to fruition.
