Inspiration
The rainforest has so many different aspects, so people must understand just as many different perspectives. Capybaras embody this greatly -- they're friendly towards all, and often have no enemies in their ecosystems. Thus, we want to spread information that helps people act more like capybaras, that is more open to helping others and the rainforest environments!
What it does
Displays information regarding rainforest ecosystems, deforestation, and its effects. Also provides opportunities for activism and action to the viewer.
How we built it
We used HTML and CSS in Visual Studio Code with a collaborative Git Hub repository.
Challenges we ran into
We were all new to collaborative coding, so we ran into many issues with operating Visual Studio as well as Git Hub. Additionally, we had not used HTML or CSS in a while, so it was an obstacle to relearn much of it.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We learned how to use Visual Studio and Git Hub repositories effectively, something that we struggled with greatly. We are also proud of the working navigation bar, as it took some work to get operational.
What we learned
We learned how to lay out UX before starting coding, specifically using a powerpoint. We also created cohesive color palettes and learned how to develop a hierarchy depending on importance.
What's next for Project Capybara
Continued spread of the website and development to reflect modern information and raise more awareness, creating more capybaras!
