We are excited to be part of the Kent State 2019 Fashion Hackathon. We are a group of designers with a knack of problem solving. When introduced to the goal of the Hackathon, we immediately thought of what parts of the body could be improved with wearables that could give a fresh perspective on what it means to be “fashionable”.

Our solution to the 2019 Kent State Fashion Hackathon is a vest for boaters that cleans and stores water. We finalized this idea by brainstorming and ideating on what types of wearables would have the largest impact on human life. We concluded that the torso would be a great opportunity because the torso holds the body's major internal organs such as the heart, lungs, and kidneys.

We believe that products should always solve a problem that is simple to the user to understand. How our product solves the dehydration problem is a by replaceable bag inside the vest for boaters to fill in fresh water as well as a filter.

Working together as a team, we overcame many challenges such as simplifying our idea to its simplest form. There were several ideas of what our vest could do, the shape of the vest, the aesthetic, and functions.

Overall, Team Atlantis had a great time working with all who came to the Kent State Fashion Hackathon. We learned that an idea may have may sound great but your time to accomplish the task will need collaborations, feedback, and experiences of ideas.
