StudyBuddy - AI-Powered Study Companion

Inspiration

Today's students are drowning in endless social media scrolling and brainrot content instead of focusing on their studies. We saw friends spending hours on TikTok but struggling to find quality study resources or stay motivated to learn. We wanted to create something that could compete with the instant gratification of social media but actually help students succeed academically.

What it does

StudyBuddy transforms any study material into personalized, interactive learning experiences. Students can upload PDFs, notes, or textbooks, and our AI generates custom flashcards, quizzes, and practice questions tailored to their content. It tracks progress, identifies weak areas, and makes studying as engaging as scrolling through your favorite app.

How we built it

Frontend: Expo (React Native) for cross-platform mobile development
Backend: Supabase for database, authentication, and file storage
AI: GPT-4 via Azure OpenAI for intelligent content generation
Design: My designer friend Agrima created the UI/UX while I handled all the coding
Development: Built using Bolt for rapid prototyping and development
