Inspiration
I was once a volunteer in a rural town teaching at a school. The sheer lack of medical supplies and even lack of transportation to get the medical supplies surprised and inspired me. I decided to start a start-up building drones to deliver medicine and other essentials.
What it does
Our drone service delivers basic medicine along with water purification tablets to distant rural towns.
How we built it
3-D printing
Challenges we ran into
It was nearly impossible to get our drone to handle a payload, but we were able to do it with the help of clicking mechanisms in 3d printing.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We've managed to deliver to 17 villages and over 500 people.
What we learned
What's next for Project AeroMed
We hope to partner with other NGOS to get farther reach and deliver to as many people as possible.
