Inspiration

Trying to get a blockchain project off the ground is hard, as a funder you need to be all things to all people and you don't want to launch too early and give too much equity away and you don't want to be busy building to the point that you feel you have to launch before it's too late or run out of money and have to accept a bad offer of investment. Enter STARTING BLOCKS a new way to list a pre sale where you don't need to have everything worked out you just need to be able to tell other people what you are trying to build and prove the roadmap of your project. Founders often have great ideas but unfortunately most of them learn business the hard way because they are doing everything for the fist time and mistakes are guaranteed. As a result many founders say they if they could do it over they would have done it differently, many get shafted loosing a lot of their company because they launched their token too early or gave too much equity away to the wrong investor or couldn't afford to do it right because they were bootstrapping. Often the founder is the ideas person, the person who writes the white paper and they get shafted by the system because the status quo is good for the opportunistic people there ready to take advantage of an inexperienced founder.

How we built it

At this stage it is still just an idea for the ideathon but if it gets some traction we will build it. All the effort went into the video, I hope you enjoy it.

Challenges we ran into

Trying to explain the pros and cons of different systems in an easy format & having to video edit everything myself using Premier & Photoshop

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Outlined a really good idea for a company project. A simple 5mi explanation of something the world could do with.

What we learned

I still hate video editing but it is still the best medium for explaining technical content.

What's next for Starting Blocks

Finding a hipster, hacker & a hustler to make a team. Validate the use case, build a prototype and get some funding to build it for real.
