Inspiration

For me I was inspired to create this web service because my middle school business. I would buy different goods and constantly sell to my peers. For example candy, I would buy in bulk every week and sell them to other students for a higher price. This application would of come in handy for me back then to help keep track of sales and profit.

What it does

This application allows you to track your small business transactions and profit.

How we built it

I built this product using html and JavaScript. The IDE that I used was Replet.

Challenges we ran into

A challenge I ran into was with my teammates. I originally created a group with my school classmates, but they forgot about it and didn't show up. Next I went to Team Formation to see if I was able to join a new group and I was. I was paired up with two others. The first guy in the group emailed me and said he was no longer able to participate and it was down to just me and one other. The other person in my group stopped communication and also left so it was down to just me. I debated giving up and quitting many times but I remembered something my mother always said, "When the going gets tough the tough gets going." This pushed me to move forward and be persistent to submit a product.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

An accomplishment that I am proud of is when I didn't give up when all my teammates quit. Also when my code constantly gave me errors I kept on researching to fix the issue and I didn't quit.

What we learned

I definitely learned a lot in this hackathon with how to troubleshoot my code, and how to integrate JavaScript into an html product.

What's next for Profit calculator

Next I will learn more on how I can make the website look appealing and adding the feature to be able to include more rows to store multiple customers information.
