Inspiration

In the dynamic world of college life, juggling assignments and managing heavy workloads can often feel overwhelming. As fellow college students, we understand the chaos firsthand and the quest for increased productivity amidst the constant flurry of tasks. It was this very challenge that sparked the inspiration behind our website.

What it does

Our website provides you with a simple and effective solution to maximize your efficiency and you have access to a powerful set of tools like Todo list, timer, and to create a chill musical environment we also have a Spotify playlist that will help you create an ambient workspace tailored to your needs.

How we built it

We built our platform using the react framework, using its powerful hooks like useState, useEffects, etc and also we integrated a Spotify-embed playlist using iFrame API. We used a sound package called use-sound to add audio effects to our timer. To uniquely identify each of to-do's we used a package called uuid. Additionally, we implemented local storage functionality to ensure consistent data storage. We also used live share (an extension of VS Code) which helped us code simultaneously as we are geographically apart.

Challenges we ran into

First of all, it was a great experience working on this project and learning many new things throughout the process. We also encountered many difficulties such as using Spotify to play music on our website, using audio for the timer because of the browser policy which doesn't allow us to auto-play music on websites, animating the sub-header, etc.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We got to learn many new things throughout the process. This being our first hackathon, we are really proud that we could build something with our new skills and sharpen them to such an extent.

What we learned

Through this project, we learnt how to use react hooks to a new level and also we got to learn many things about the Spotify API but sadly we couldn't use it in our project but in place of that we used Spotify embeds. We also learnt how to work in a team, without which it wouldn't be possible to make this project in such a short period of time.
