Inspiration

With the current situation with COVID-19, being at home may not be the easiest task, especially with working from home, but that doesn't mean you can't make the most of it. It can be hard to stay motivated and positive during these isolated times at home, especially in regards to maintaining a healthy work-life balance and prioritizing your wellness rather than comparing yourself to the achievements of others in quarantine. We wanted to help our community overcome these obstacles by providing simple goals and action items to check in with themselves and support a healthy lifestyle, encouraging them to make the most of their time at home.

What it does

Productify is a web app based on providing tips for physical health, mental health, and productivity to encourage everyone to be more productive, optimistic, and energized throughout this period of isolation or at least to give someone a little bit of motivation. Because this time is so uncertain, no one’s path is wrong. Whether you’re using this time to get ahead in academics and work or just trying to relax during this stressful time, we want to encourage you to not compare yourself to others' progress and “be the best version of you.”

Our main functionality is composed of 3 buttons, each corresponding to one of the aforementioned topics. For example, clicking on the mental health button takes you to the portion of our web app that presents tips for improving your mental health. On this page, you can click on the random generator button to receive such an actionable suggestion. If you want more information on the given tip, you can scroll down or generate another tip. You can use the navigation bar at the top to go back to the homepage and access the other buttons for physical health and productivity.

How we built it

We build our application with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

Challenges we ran into

We ran into issues with alignment, positioning elements, and getting multiple JavaScript functions to show when the button was pressed.
