Inspiration

Members of our group grew up in impoverished communities where often kids are not able to pursue their dreams and aspirations due to lack of guidance. We wanted to make sure the next generation of kids do not have to wave goodbye to their dreams.

What it does

This website allows parents to sign up on behalf of their children and enter their children's passions and dreams. We then provide the parents of the children with resources to advance their children's aspirations, and we provide the proper guidance for kids to succeed.

How we built it

We used flask as the template for our website. We used a SQL structured database in order to store the data in regards to the parents of kids, as well as the appropriate amount of data to provide proper guidance for children. We then implemented OpenAI in our website, to fetch data about resources using the age, and passions of the children along with the location where they reside.

Challenges we ran into

User Interface had become an issue late into our project, because we began to use bootstrap along with manually structured CSS files, which caused interference in our templates.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Proper implementation of OpenAI, as well as making good use of the SQL database in order to fetch data in an efficient manner.

What we learned

We learned the importance of Kanban methodology, and how we should use it in order to build our ideas in a structured and organized way.

What's next for Prodigy

The potential of this website and idea is limitless, so we believe expanding this idea through the use of more APIs in order to provide users with more guidance and possibly courses through the website itself.
