Inspiration
It's difficult being a project manager, especially when there are so many different platforms for collaboration. From discord and google calendar to slack and zoom, there are tons of collaborative platform but no project manager does all their work in one space. As a student working in group projects, we realize that traditional project management tools are so separated with no option to integrate components on one interface. That's what inspired us to create Prodigy, our goal is to create a simple, intuitive platform that helps teams stay organized, track progress, and get things done all in one place.
What it does
Prodigy makes project management easy, it allows teams to track tasks, and stay up to date with deadlines across the "work space", see real time updates based on completion, progress, and updates!
How we built it
- We used React.js for a fast and responsive front-end
- Vite, and Flask for quick backend development
- Axios for API communication
- Personalized CSS for a clean design
Challenges we ran into
We had a lot of issues figuring out how to put all the concepts we wanted to bring into a clean user interface We want to figure out how to bring AI into the calendar to automate sprints and deadlines for the teams without the project manager having to think about it too much. How we were going to get live updates Backend implementation AI integration
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are so proud that we came up with an almost fully functioning interface!
What we learned
Through building Prodigy, we learned how to develop a full-stack application using React.js for a dynamic and responsive front-end and Flask for a lightweight backend, connecting them seamlessly with Axios for API communication. We gained experience in creating clean, user-friendly interfaces with personalized CSS.
