Inspiration

Many film students dive into projects with the assumption that the logistics, legalities, and safety requirements are minimal - especially for scenes that appear straightforward on screen. However, issues like stunts, minors, public locations, and vehicle use can trigger a whole cascade of complex legal, insurance, and permission needs. Existing production apps often expect students to figure out these intricate details themselves, leaving them overwhelmed with paperwork, legal jargon, unclear deadlines, compliance risks, and fragmented communication with vendors and crew.

SOLUTION

Our app is an AI-powered production assistant that transforms creative ideas into structured, executable production plans.

By analyzing the script, the platform automatically identifies legal triggers, generates the correct agreements, inserts milestone-based deadlines, recommends crew and vendors, and even communicates with vendors directly using AI voice technology.

Using advanced AI, including ElevenLabs voice synthesis, the app doesn’t just assist students. It acts on their behalf.

When a student uploads a script, the app:

Performs an intelligent script breakdown
Detects production triggers (minors, stunts, IP usage, drones, private property, etc.)
Generates required contracts and paperwork automatically
Anchors legal deadlines to production milestones
Recommends qualified crew based on scene requirements
Contacts vendors using an AI voice agent
Converts storyboards into voiced demo videos
Analyzes market viability and predicts success probability

AI Script Breakdown & Production Mapping (Powered by ElevenLabs):

The app begins by analyzing the script and reading it aloud using ElevenLabs voice AI, assigning different realistic voices to each character for a full table-read experience.
It automatically identifies and extracts all production elements — cast, locations, props, stunts, minors, vehicles, special equipment, and more.
Every element is intelligently sorted into departments such as hair & makeup, equipment, art department, cast, and crew.
Legal triggers (e.g., minors, private property, existing IP) are detected instantly, activating required paperwork, compliance steps, and timeline planning.

AI Vendor Agent (Powered by ElevenLabs):

A fully autonomous AI agent calls vendors on the student’s behalf using realistic ElevenLabs voice synthesis.
Conversations are transcribed in real time and converted into structured summaries.
Key details such as pricing, availability, and requirements are automatically extracted and highlighted (e.g., “Camera Package – $1,000/day”).
The agent sends follow-up emails, organizes quotes, and manages booking workflows with user consent, eliminating manual note-taking and comparison.

AI Storyboard Demo with ElevenLabs Voiceover:

Static storyboard frames are transformed into dynamic demo videos that preview the film visually.
ElevenLabs AI voice generates narration and performs character dialogue with emotional tone and pacing.
Scenes play sequentially, creating an immersive run-through before filming begins.
Students can instantly generate pitch-ready demo content to present to collaborators, professors, or investors.

AI Film Market Analysis & Success Prediction:

The script is analyzed to identify comparable films based on genre, tone, and narrative structure.
The system references IMDb ratings and performance indicators to evaluate similar titles.
Audience positioning and market trends are assessed to understand competitive placement.
The app calculates a projected likelihood of success, helping students make data-driven creative and financial decisions.

Every feature exists to translate what’s written on the page into what must happen in real life - legally, logistically, visually, and financially.

How we built it

After the basic idea was brainstormed we developed a rough outline using base 44. We primarily used 2 AI IDEs to help develop the application, Antigravity and Cursor. Planning mode features were used on cursor along with context7 MCP to fetch relevant documentation that was required for the services we wished to establish.

Challenges we ran into

The biggest challenge we initially ran into was configuring the prompt and data flow for our “Script Breakdown” agent that handles a bulk of the work, right from getting the PDF to doing character identification, scenes identification and many other such automated information extraction tasks. We also experimented with different models and ended up using the provided Claude credits.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of being able to test our application on multiple real scripts with accurate information extraction and sub-processing that results in immediate actionable insights for film students and independent filmmakers. From pasted script or PDF upload to structured breakdown (scenes, cast, locations, stunts, minors, vehicles, day/night, INT (interior shot) /EXT (exterior shot), cost flags, departments) with a rule-driven, schema-strict LLM pipeline. We are also proud of the vision for ProDeus as a comprehensive platform that assists producers so that they can focus on the creative side and leave the logistics to us.

What we learned

The diverse team dynamics allowed us to learn a lot from each other. The 2 engineers on the team were able to reflect and analyze the real world issues in the film industry. Our third team member is a film student and learnt the rapid ways of prototyping and data flows for creating real world impact. She also learnt what an API is!

What's next for ProDeus

ProDeus will expand from pre-production into post-production: distribution and marketing strategy. In post-production, the AI will automatically complete film festival submissions, track eligibility requirements, and add deadlines directly into the calendar to prevent missed opportunities.

We are also building an advanced, film-specific AI pitch deck generator - more specialized than Canva - that transforms scripts, budgets, visuals, and market data into producer-ready presentations.

Finally, ProDeus will deepen its demographic and audience analysis tools, helping filmmakers align their budget, casting, and distribution strategy with the right target market.

Our vision is to support filmmakers from script to screen to sales - all in one intelligent system.

I worked on the full stack implementation as well as the multi agent architecture for this project. It was my first time using elevenlabs API and I was quite amazed by the sea of creative applications that it unlocked for us.

I worked on the backend implementation and core system logic for this project, including building the content processing pipeline and contributing to the multi-agent architecture. I focused on designing the data flow that transforms unstructured inputs into structured outputs and integrating AI services to automate key workflows. It was exciting to see how the different components interacted to create a seamless and intelligent user experience.
