Inspiration

Procurement teams often have PDFs in one window, search results in another, and an approval trail scattered across messages. The hard part is not generating a confident recommendation; it is preserving enough evidence for another person to inspect and reproduce it.

What it does

ProcureProof turns a vendor quote into a decision brief. It presents extracted line items, comparable market prices, variance flags, source provenance, and a chronological audit trail. A reviewer can approve or hold the quote and export the resulting record. Machine-produced evidence and human decisions are visually and structurally separated.

How we built it

The interactive product is built with React, TypeScript, and Vinext. Server routes implement credential-gated adapters for Nutrient DWS PDF extraction, SerpApi Google Shopping evidence, and Xano audit persistence. The current public prototype uses clearly labeled fixtures until sponsor credentials are connected; it does not misrepresent simulated data as live API output.

Challenges we ran into

The central design challenge was provenance. A procurement tool can look polished while hiding whether a number was extracted, searched, inferred, or manually entered. ProcureProof makes origin, time, and policy version first-class and preserves the human approval boundary.

What we learned

The highest-value AI procurement experience is not autonomous purchasing. It is fast evidence collection with a replayable trail and a clearly accountable reviewer.

What's next for ProcureProof

Connect live Nutrient DWS extraction, replace market fixtures with SerpApi results, persist quotes, evidence, and decisions in Xano, add reviewer authentication, and pilot with small purchasing teams.

Where Nutrient DWS does the heavy lifting: it performs the core deterministic document-extraction step that turns vendor quote PDFs into reviewable structured fields with confidence and provenance.
