Inspiration

Procurement teams spend a lot of time calling multiple suppliers to get basic information like availability, pricing, MOQs, lead time, and payment terms. It's repetitive, slow, and hard to compare suppliers quickly. I wanted to build something that can handle these phone calls for buyers, collect accurate information, and present it in a clear, structured way - while keeping humans in

What it does

ProcureCall uses Al-powered phone calls to contact suppliers and collect key procurement details such as product/service, availability, pricing, MOQs, lead time, delivery cost, and payment terms. It turns unstructured phone conversations into structured, comparable supplier options so buyers can make faster and better decisions.

How we built it

We built ProcureCall as a CALL-E Skill that handles the entire supplier sourcing call. The Skill follows a structured conversation flow, asks the right questions, captures the responses, and returns the data in a clean JSON format. We also created reference and safety documents to guide the agent on live-call best practices, number handling, call authorization, cancellations, and high-stakes boundaries.

Challenges we ran into

The biggest challenge was getting stable audio during live calls. Recording the demo on a laptop while the call was routed to my phone made it hard to capture both sides clearly. We also had to design the Skill to gracefully handle unclear answers, supplier refusals, and different conversation styles.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're proud of building a working end-to-end voice workflow that can call real suppliers, collect meaningful data, and present it in a structured way. The safety guardrails, documentation, and human-approval design make it production-minded, not just a demo.

What we learned

Voice Al is powerful, but the real value comes from workflow design, clear instructions, and handling real-world edge cases. We learned that great Al experiences still need strong guardrails and human oversight.

What's next for ProcureCall

Next, we plan to add multi-supplier parallel calls, supplier history, comparison views, and integration with procurement systems so buyers can move from sourcing to action seamlessly.
