What it does

ProcrastiNot is our solution to widespread procrastination, particularly among students. Our app increases student productivity through a deposit system wherein individuals pay a monthly subscription. Individual students or large organizations, however, are able to earn back their money, and even gain a profit by meeting deadlines and submitting essays promptly. The essays are judged by an internal AI system which ensures high quality essays through the monitoring of length and relevance. Such a system encourages students to complete their work in a timely manner to prevent loss and gain profit.

How we built it

Our team used Figma for the Wireframe and will be using Python for the application

Challenges we ran into

Over the course of the hackathon, the majority of our team tested positive for COVID-19, pushing meetings and deadlines further behind. It was extremely challenging to gather all members in one call, which stunted development of the app. Furthermore, as with all new challenges, there was a period of adjustment, particularly upon using Figma.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We were able to pull through and complete our app, despite the challenges faced.

What we learned

Upon hearing about this hackathon, we decided to embark on this new journey as we thought it would be exciting to create our own application! Although majority of our team have yet to be exposed to figma, we thought this hackathon provided us with a great opportunity to familiarise ourselves with this non-coding language, which we learned through youtube videos and websites. In addition, our team was initially formed with coding-interested members. Through this project, we learned the importance of collaboration and were able to understand and appreciate each member's skills and assets. Furthermore, upon contracting covid, it was challenging to arrange meetings and reach out to our team members, as majority were sick. Hence, we also learned to manage our time well, as well as learning the importance of open communication.

What's next for ProcrastiNot

We plan to introduce new features and further refine ProcrastiNot, with hopes of launching this app on various platforms in the future.
